IDNS are at the forefront of AV and IT design, integration and implementation and are the UK’s largest integrator of interactive technology into education. They’d recently defined their brand mission and vision and needed a visual identity to communicate what really matters to them, their culture and what it’s like doing business with them. They wanted a visual identity that is respected and loved by everyone interacting with it.

From the outset of working with IDNS, we could see that the organisation was full of genuine straight-talking people who made us feel like we were in the pub having a drink at every get-together. Their current brand didn’t communicate their open approach to business and that you would work with some fantastic people whenever you interact with IDNS. Our main challenge was communicating their honest personality while showcasing the products they install, a lot of which are essentially just square black boxes.

There was a genuine desire from IDNS for us to be bold and disruptive with their visual identity; research showed that competitor brands were conservative and corporate, a league away from what IDNS were all about. The visual style needed to pack a punch.

Our team introduced a playful brand mascot that helps IDNS convey personality while directly expressing IDNS’s fun and energetic culture. The robot – named ‘IDNS’ – brings extra meaning to the business name and encourages audiences to form a stronger emotional connection with the brand. The new strapline ‘Technology that Matters’ communicates that IDNS are here to make a difference with their work. The new visual style is vibrant, modern and welcoming, with a contemporary typographic approach and radiant colour palette, giving them a powerful and disruptive presence within their industry.
